'The Guru'
Jimi Mistry's breakout dud
I saw ‘The Guru’ with Jimi Mistry. Found it crass, exploitative. You can’t totally condemn something that starts and ends with a Hindi number, but this relies on two of the four big positioning niches that India has in the American consciousness: the Kama Sutra and hippies / fake holy men. (Leaves aside mythology and poverty.)
