I went to the Penn Masala concert Sat night in Manhattan-- they were awesome. They do a cappella Hindi / hip-hop medleys, beautiful harmony, thirteen singers.

I bought their latest album, 'Soundcheck'. Check out 'Jana Gana Mana,' the Indian national anthem, just gorgeous.

The crowd was young, college-age, mixed with a few older professional Indian Indians, the charitable org Asha sponsored the event. And it was something like 80% female :) It was a spirited group, lots of hoots and hollers, high energy.
