Butterfly day

New York City awoke today to butterfly stickers all over town, on sidewalks, up walls, on newspaper kiosks, and most obnoxiously, on the front doors of retail stores without their approval. Most did not say anything, no ‘MSN’, no explanation.

Sentiment was mixed, a grumpy old lady with a squat black dog was peeling them off every sidewalk corner. The woman behind the Starbucks counter said, ‘Microsoft has so much money, they don’t need to take free advertising from small shopkeepers.’

There’s a big launch tonight in Central Park. I still have a hard time getting excited about something that aspires to be AOL.
